Welcome to Modern Homestead Haven! My name is Taylor and I’m excited to share my experiences – both good and bad – of living on a small farm in central Canada.
We live on a small acreage which has been in the family for generations. We take pride in our diverse garden filled with vegetables, fruits, and herbs. We also forage when possible, preserve our harvests, hunt the land, and raise a few cows.
I love to cook, bake, can, garden, and spend time outdoors with my dog and sometimes my husband, haha. However, I must add that I am not your ‘traditional’ homesteader. Heck, some people may not even categorize me as a ‘homesteader’. I use gadgets and gizmos to make what I do easier, but that doesn’t stop me from feeding my family from the land as ethically as possible, preserving food for long-term storage, and overall living off of the land as much as I can.
If you have any questions or stories to share, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m always eager to exchange experiences with those who share the same passions.
Thank you for visiting and I hope you can find some value in my little blog!
